Automatic thoughts are more common than you think. Click on the Blue Arrow below each type of automatic thought to learn more about it. Then read the quick scenario and description. When you have read through each type of automatic thought, try and see if you can recognize examples of these thoughts in your own thinking. Write them down and then rip them up! RETHINK IT. 

WRITE AN EXAMPLE.

Participants at the exhibit were asked to write an example of an automatic thought on the corresponding post it. Afterwards they placed it into a slot in a wooden box, just to see their thought shredded. This is to enforce that you can erase this type of thinking and make room for positive or alternative thoughts.
